Additional info

  • Recorded during downtime in the summer of 1972 while Queen were working on their debut album. Producer Robin Geoffrey Cable recruited Freddie to sing vocals, and when Cable was unable to get a decent sound from a synthesizer for the solo, Freddie suggested Brian be brought in and play the solo on his guitar. Roger was also hanging around doing nothing, so he was asked to contribute some percussion.
  • Not strictly a Freddie solo performance, it was released as Larry Lurex in the summer of 1973, a fortnight prior to Keep Yourself Alive. Needless to say, nobody knew who Larry Lurex was, and the single sunk without a trace.

Lyrics

This is the way I always dreamed it would be
The way that it is,oh,when you are holding me
I never had a love of my own
Maybe that's why when we're all alone

I can hear music
I can hear music
Sounds of the city baby seem to disappear
Oh well I can hear music
Sweet sweet music
When ever you touch me baby
Whenever you're near

Loving you it keeps me satisfied
And I can't explain,oh no,the way I'm feeling inside
You look at me we kiss and then
I close my eyes and here it comes again

I can hear music
I can hear music
Sounds of the city baby seem to disappear
Oh well I can hear music
Sweet sweet music
When ever you touch me baby
Whenever you're near

I can hear music
Sweet sweet music
When ever you touch me baby
Whenever you're near

I can hear music
Sweet sweet music
When ever you touch me baby
Whenever you're near
