Notes

  • Recorded in the summer of 1972 during downtime at Trident Studios, but released in June 1973. The name was devised as a play-on-words at the expense of Gary Glitter, and Freddie later elaborated that the original name was Larry Lurex and the Voles From Venus, which was more of a parody of Ziggy Stardust and the Spiders From Mars. Reportedly, Glitter fans were less than pleased at the harmless poke, but it's more likely that hardly anybody noticed, considering the single's resounding failure.
