Throughout Queen's career, there have been questions about John Deacon's solo intentions, and from time to time he was heard to express views on either producing or writing for other singers. However there was apparently never any likelihood of a "traditional" solo album, as John has, by his own admission, no singing voice.

Any rumour to the contrary is mischevious.
