1998 saw Queen back in the top ten in the UK, and a sizable hit in America once again. The cause was Wyclef Jean, the hugely successful rapper and producer who at that point was best known as being a founder member of chart topping rap/r&b act The Fugees.

Teaming up once again with fellow Fugee Pras Michel, and with the help of female rapper Free, Wyclef provided a striking reworking of Queen's 1980 US-chart topper 'Another One Bites The Dust', mixing the original record with new rap parts from himself, Pras and Free, and noticably increasing the power of Roger's original drum work.

Queen's involvement with the video, directed by acclaimed filmmaker Michael Gondry, was minimal - but it remains one of the most high concept promo videos they've released. In it, Wyclef plays a hapless security guard in a rock n roll museum. He falls asleep beside the Queen exhibit - which is where the only actual Queen footage included is shown on a bass drum. The footage is taken from the original Daniella Green promo for the song. He wakes up to find a party around the exhibit, but then someone breaks in and steals the Freddie figure!

As the thieves make their getaway in a mini, Wyclef is kitted up by Free with the latest in high tech gadgets for his mission to retrieve the statue. He attempts to pilot his remote controlled scooter, and fails miserably, only to be lured into a luxurious limousine by a sultry lady. However, its a trap, and he is soon under lock and key with the very people who have stolen the statue! If you watch closely, their lair features the Small Soldiers movie logo - the film for which the remix was commissioned.

Wyclef manages to break out, and uses all his gadgets and a little help from Canibus (who for reasons unknown replaced Pras Michel for the video version) to defeat the bad guys and get the statue back to the museum, where he is rewarded for his efforts... only to wake up once more and realise it was all a dream.

There were at least two versions of the video - the most common featuring an alternative rap by Canibus that is unavailable on any other version of the remix, which all featured Pras Michel instead. A version of this was also made that censored any remotely controversial words in the admittedly rather tame rap, for broadcast pre watershed.

Neither version of the video has ever received a commercial release, despite the possibility of inclusion on both 'Greatest Flix III' and the 2003 music video collection The Work Of Director Michael Gondry, which featured several other EMI artists.
