Following on from the three previous chart successes from The Miracle came Scandal, a song aimed at the tabloid press. A highlight of its parent album, the song unfortunately failed to generate much airplay, but with help from Queen's UK record company releasing no fewer than six versions of the single, the band's most faithful fans helped it get to a respectable number 25 in the national singles charts.

The video was directed once again by the Torpedo Twins, but was a somewhat rushed affair, lacking in the epic scope Queen were now fully accustomed to. Filmed in Pinewood Studies on 27th September 1989, the piece was strictly performance based: the band miming along to the song on a specially built stage designed to look like an enormous newspaper.

The band were never really satisfied with the video, and although fans did not have to wait long to own it on VHS (it was included on The Miracle EP video released in time for Christmas 1989), the song failed to make the tracklisting for Greatest Hits II and its Flix II counterpart. Much to the delight of many a diehard fan, the video was given its digitally remastered premiere for the Greatest Video Hits 2 DVD in 2003.
