As the fourth and final single from A Kind Of Magic, Brian's haunting Who Wants To Live Forever was unlikely to be a big hit - but still reached a respectable number 24 in the UK and has since become a firm favourite amongst fans. Directed by David Mallet, the video was filmed in a (now demolished) warehouse at Tobacco Wharf in London's East End.

Shot in September of 1986, it featured the National Philhamonic Orchestra together with forty choirboys and hundreds and hundreds of candles, all of which had to remain lit throughout filming. The video saw two firsts for the band: Brian singing a verse himself (he had often sung album tracks, but these never had videos), and John playing a double bass (though he had played the instrument on Bring Back That Leroy Brown and '39).

Keen eyed fans might also spot that the conductor is none other than the highly celebrated Michael Kamen, who composed most of the music for Highlander that the band did not supply.

There are two versions of the promo: the first was included on the A Kind Of Magic / Who Wants To Live Forever VHS video single in October of 1986, and contained snippets of the Russell Mulcahy movie Highlander (from which the song was taken), whilst the more common version lacked the Highlander clips and just featured footage shot in the warehouse. This is the version that was later included on the Greatest Flix II VHS and the Greatest Video Hits 2 DVD, though the video single version also featured on the DVD as an easter egg.
